82nd Chapeltown Scouts

July 04

Mon 7th Greno Woods 7-9pm

Please meet in the top car park at Greno Woods where we will have a wide game.

Lost Property from Splashdown We've had quite a bit of lost property reported from Splashdown from sleeping bag covers, woolley hats, a fluffy bird toy etc. If you have any of these items or know where they are please bring them on Monday Night and give them to Bob.

Disappointed: 2 Scouts who asked to represent the Troop in the 5-a-side football competition just didn't turn up, needless to say this breaks more that one Scout Law that we all agree to uphold. Both Scouts will be spoken to about it, but please all note, please do not say you are going to do something and then just not turn up. We're normally very proud of our Scouts but on this occasion two of you have let yourselves and their fellow Scouts down.

82nd AGM

A reminder that our AGM for the Group is on Wednesday 9th July. We would ask that all Scouts and parents that can attend do so please. We as Scouts this year will be putting on a display of our Centenary Celebrations especially our Day Trip to the Jamboree, so if you have any relevant items please bring them with you for displaying.

Splashdown

Wow, brilliant, 25 Scouts, 5 YL and 5 Leaders had the best one yet making new friends, taking part in the Regatta finishing in the placings all the time with the most notable performances fro Sam who won by miles only to be disqualified for missing a buoy, sadly Sam had time to circle the buoy half a dozen time and still win, the Jacob won his race so was our onlt actual winner, but with 2nds and 3rds in races going to Brandon, Luke & Sam and an excellent 2nd out of 12 teams in the George Borwick Trophy against much older competition with Sam, Kieran, Lee, Bug, Mitchell and Gregg all doing so well. The 82nd came 3rd overall in the White Ensign. Brilliant performance guys. The rest of the weekend was great fun where we launched our new Canadian and a dinghy for the 1st time. We were visited by County Commissioner Andy Moore for a cup of tea. Thanks to all that helped especially parents to break camp and stow away the gear. Next year is the events Silver Jubilee and 25 Years of Splashdown.
